Declarative: sentences are a statement or a declaration. They usually end with a period, but if they are making a strong statement they could end with an exclamation mark.

Example: He's Dribbleing The Ball.

Imperative: sentences give a command or make a request. Again, while these could end in an exclamation mark, they usually end in a period. Since this type of sentence is directed at a person or thing, the subject of the sentence is not used.

Example: Give me the ball, now!

Exclamatory: sentences are exclamations. They always end in an exclamation mark which conveys strong emotions.

Example: yes, i finally won!

Interrogative: sentences ask a question or interrogate. Usually, an interrogative sentence will end with a question mark, but could end with an exclamation mark when strong feelings are being used.

Example: What are you doing?

A Run-On Sentence- (sometimes called a "fused sentence") has at least two parts, either one of which can stand by itself (in other words, two independent clauses), but the two parts have been smooshed together instead of being properly connected.

Example: The ball is flat, put  some air in it.
