4752Greenwood Drive Springfield, Illinois September 25, 2002 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hampton, I regret to inform you that your son Laurie has gotten out of hand. I’m not sure if he told you these things that I am about to tell you, so brace yourself. Laurie has unquestionably poor behavior. He has been more insubordinate than any of his classmates. First he kicked me, shouted out during story time. These aren’t even half of the things that he has done in class. The other things might be a little violent but I am afraid I have to tell you, Laurie bounced the seesaw on a little girl’s head and made her cry, he hit a boy in the stomach, and finally he kicked my friend. I am afraid that these things are too violent for this kindergarten class. If Laurie continues to do these I might have to suspend him. Sincerely yours, Ms. Bryant Laurie’s teacher (Stephanie Bryant)

1783 Blaze Street New York, New York September 12, 2002 Dear Ms. Applebloom, I am Laurie’s teacher, Mr. Blaze. I’m writing you to tell you about Laurie’s behavior. Laurie is using bad language, getting fresh and hitting other children. He has struck at me when he wanted to color with a blue crayon and I told him to use a red crayon. Laurie is refusing to participate in gym and has hit the gym teacher. Your son has yelled so loudly he interrupted the 1st graders all the way down the hall. He has been very rude and disrespectful. I think the best way to solve this problem is to have a meeting with Laurie present at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening. Thank you for your time and cooperation. Sincerely yours, Mr. John Blaze Kindergarten teacher (Keenan Mace)

5151 N. Loaner Dr. Seattle, Washington 60713 September 12, 2002 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Crockett, My name is Miss Dobbs and I am Laurie’s kindergarten teacher. I am writing this letter to inform you of Laurie’s behavior in class. Although he is a very bright student, his behavior isn’t pleasing at all. On Wednesday of the first week, he bounced a see-saw on a girl’s head and made her bleed very badly. This incident caused him to miss recess that day. He has kicked several students. These are just a couple of behavioral problems Laurie is having. I would like to schedule a Parent/Student/Teacher Conference soon. I can be reached from 7:30 a.m. –5:30 p.m. at 555-7958(work) or at 569-7999(home). Sincerely
yours, Miss Dobbs Kindergarten teacher (Shanae Williams)

182 Blink St. Rockshow, TE 61632 September 12, 2002 Dear Mr. and Mrs. DeLonge, I am Laurie’s kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Castro. I regret to inform you that your son’s behavior is completely out of control. A few things he has done are; getting very fresh with me, he has struck me because I wanted him and the class to color with red crayons and he wanted to color with green crayons, he bounced a see-saw onto the head of a classmate and made her bleed, he has been disruptive during story time, he has thrown chalk, he has yelled so loud that he disrupted the first graders, he also shown very disrespectful behavior toward my husband, David, who came to teach the children exercises. Laurie kicked him. Of course Laurie wasn’t allowed to participate in the activity. All of this disrespectful, disruptive and violent behavior has to stop. That is why I am sending this letter home to you, so that you, as parents, can aid in the correction of this behavior before he leaves kindergarten. With your help, we can make Laurie’s and all the other children’s kindergarten experience much better and enjoyable. Please get back to me regarding this letter. Thank you for your cooperation and time. I wish you luck with Laurie! He really is a great kid! Sincerely yours, Mrs. N. Castro Kindergarten Teacher (Nikki Gower)
